Description

Despite India’s significant progress in improving the maternal and child survival and reducing maternal and child deaths, yet the rates of progress within states and districts are unequal. The Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCH +A) strategy aims to improve maternal and child survival by strengthening the health care delivery system and emphasizes the effective use of data for planning, monitoring and evidence-based policy formulation to reduce health disparities.

Centre for Good Governance (CGG), Hyderabad has Scorecard/ Dash Board have been developed to assess and improve the service delivery through the Health Management Information System (HMIS). The scorecard assists in the comparative assessment of the performance of states, districts and blocks. The scorecard would facilitate the use of HMIS data and ultimately improve the data quality in HMIS. Evaluation and Resouce Group (ERG) worked on developing scorecards using the overall composite index to highlight inequities across districts in the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. This exercise is in the comparative assessment of the performance of districts in both the states.
